I want to add a few horse power to my 2015 forte koup sx will replacing my default intake air filter with a K&N air filter improve my cars performance at all ?

It will help a little bit but going to a full intake will give the best performance for the money

One often overlooked feature of the K&N air filters, while they won't peg the HP meter on a dyno, you'll notice a little zippier throttle response due to more air getting in the intake. This isn't HP (per se) that's a different calculation, but ALSO on a road trip to higher elevations, the turbo charger in addition to a freer flowing air intake, will prevent your car from choking-out and loosing power at high altitudes. The turbo charger "Spools" a bit to pressurize the incoming air.
That you can wash & re-use the filter as needed (dirty roads, dust, air pollution areas) is nice. Never have to worry about "not in stock" situations with paper filters.
