Still waiting on my wheels to get shipped but was concerned about stretching when I realized the rims are 18x8 and our tires are 18x7.5 but the shop said the stock tires will accommodate up to 18x9 rims.

I'm not going for the stance look but 18x9 is pretty aggressive and my stock tires are on its 3rd summer season. I'm hoping to replace them when they go with some dedicated summers.

I'll be dropping the car soon as well but I really hate the stance look with the tires buying out due to extreme stretching.

What stock tire you have? I know KIA was changing brands...

Our tire is on the low side. If I recall, 225/40 is set for 8.0", hence 9.0" will be a bit stretch, but should work just fine.

I have the Nexxen tires. They already had a puncture and patched so I don't want to push my luck by stretching it.

You see, I have Hankook Optimo H426...

Patched? Where?
If it is a middle section, I would not worry much. Sides will be those that will take the force.
225 mm is 8.86", so section width of 9 is not a big stretch.
