It's like the Genesis guys swapping their Hyundai emblem for that special Genesis one. Another example I can think of is Scion owners with put on Toyota badges.

I personally think the "Broken K" is a much nicer design as a Branding symbol/icon. It looks cool, and is a common emblem in Korea, so in essence we are trying to be more "KDM" :p

They certainly do look cooler. But prior to now owning a Kia I always looked at those badges as someone that was ashamed of their Kia and as such don't plan to get any myself. Can't turn around the perception of Kia if people don't know what these awesome cars are.

For me it's not a matter of being ashamed at all - I love my Kia, especially its uniqueness in a sea of GTIs etc. But the "KIA" emblem is way too 'blunt' and boring for a brand that is clearly competitive with any other brand out there. All great brands are recognized not by their name, but by their logo eg; BMW, Mercedes, Apple etc. The broken K is much more styli and representative of a brand that doesn't need its name to be recognized. Now, if only the folk at Kia would realize that and adopt the broken K :).

I love my broken K badges. I don't think it takes away from people knowing about the car or anyone not wanting to represent the car. There are more of the K badges hoping up around here and they are mostly on the optima. So it is known the K badge is a Kia around here. I still have people asking what it is because they don't really know what the badge is yet and think its a lexus lol. I find it nice to be different and they look more sporty to me.

Yeah I'm sure it's not the intention. But that is a common perception out there of non Kia/Hyundai car enthusiasts.
That is true but there are a lot of car guys here in cali. A lot of guys rebadge their cars with something else. Shoot there is a guy that has his G35 badged as a skyline GTR LOL.

The broken K itself I thought was to symbolize the whole Koup thing.

There are a ton of emblem options for cars now and I'm all for something that makes a car more unique. Especially when there are so few aftermarket visual mods for our cars as it is.

There are plenty of emblem choices on the k5optimastore so have at it if you don't like the broken K.

Hell be original and make your own.
