UVO freezes

So I'm driving along, get a phone call, jump outta my seat cuz I hate that damn ring. I hit the red phone button. And freeze. No music, no ability to turn off the radio, no way to change to media or satellite. Could ONLY turn volume(no sound) up and down. (saw volume bars on the display). While at a red light I turned the car on and off. UVO(with loading bar) and the radio came on with sound and volume control. But again, all other functions didn't work....

Ideas?

I would try pulling the fuse for the radio or try pulling the radio out (so that it looses power) as a reset. OR take it to a dealer and tell them to fix it. It's under warranty for 3 years (the radio), so don't hesitate to make them fix stuff.
what kind of phone?
ok cause there has been lot of problems with Iphones most like likely it would need a need head unit pretty come with kia's
Please no one take offence to this next comment...
Apple sucks, I wont buy an apple product, that's a lot of $ on a fruit that could go into my car.

No offense. I have a Samsung s5 active and works perfectly. Only apple products I have is a ipod and my 2014 MacBook pro for dj'n lol

I see a lot of people have issues with a lot of manufacturers with apple phones connecting to their car
I have both a S4 and S5 and it never really freezes but randomly reboots and has to re download contacts. In a 30 min trip I guarantee once but usually twice. Wouldn't bother me if it was doing software updates but it is just a crap setup with horrible sound quality. So I just turn it off and listen to the exhaust.
And nowwww.... My horn doesn't work :p
You know. My UVO works great with my iPhone. My girl has an s5 and it doesn't work half the time for her. She gets mad, I laugh hard, I get hit. I do however have noticed that if I get into my car about 30-60m later and her phone was connected it will still try to connect to hers first. Even though mine is primary on the system. More of an annoyance but none the less it works just fine.
My UVO broked... It kept turning the "incoming call volume" up ALL the way. I was okay with it the first few times of it doing this figuring it was a bug. But as I was turning right the other day I got a call and about jumped through the roof! My dealer ordered me a new unit. Just wanted to throw this up here in case anyone else has problems.
Getting a new uvo deck today. Keeps bugging out and turns the incoming call volume all the way up.... That is a scary thing to get a call at full volume as your cornering in a car with the stereo muted.... I literally jumped...

That would scare the shit out of me to! That's crazy it is doing that to you. Do you have the Nav UVO or the basic UVO? I have been curious if there is a software update for my UVO. when I take it in they never say anything about it or even check
So, they replaced the head unit annnnnnnd... I get satellite radio again and the car sound system acts sounds loads better!
From what I read online, you used to be able to update the firmware on the head unit by downloading the update, and putting it on a USB drive, but I have never been able to find a link to the software.

That's what I thought because I saw there was the update feature on my NAV unit but says I need a USB. Figured that was for the dealer though.
Nav is updated via sd card. Both maps and firmware.

Wifes optima has the newer uvo but updates are dealer only. Apparently they took that option away
I'm sure I have the latest nav system since I am a 15. I am going to ask my dealer how it works
This head unit is doing the same thing with the incoming call volume. Is anyone else having this problem?
