So I got my obd2 Bluetooth dongle today and was just wondering where people set up there phone/device for torque and figured this could be a thread for others to ask torque or Bluetooth dongle related questions.

Yeah i would like to know what the benefits would be from using torque and its purpose? Just new to this but very interested Thanks.
Torque is an engine management application that is used to track and log realtime data from your ecu
There are some additional plug-ins that can be purchased so you can get some of the manufacture specific pids.
As far as knowing how to use the options and features just takes time. The more you use is the easier it gets
It's a great way to datalog so you have all you info at the tip of your fingers. One feature I always used was auto logging. Basically every time the app connects to your ecu is logs until the key is cycled. This is a great feature so you can have all your information to look back in for many different reasons

So im guess this would be good with a tune to allow for more options like managing any bolt on, fuel type maybe launch control??
This dongle does not give the ability to do that
It's strictly for code searching/logging/realtime data
As far as using the logs for tuning it's not the best for it but can be used
Managing bolt ons etc has already been mastered by Tork himself. So no need unless it's something particular that hasn't been done yet.

Ok cool thanks @kneegradamus....and i think ill be picking your brain with questions about that tork tune.

..
Sounds good
There's a lot of good information so far in some of the other threads. It's still in the works, so if there is anything you need to know that you don't find, feel free to pm me or tag me.
Forte5 is another member that can answer questions as well. We both have first hand involvement with the development of the tune so far
Thanks
Max

@kneegradamus which pids are important to look at/log? It's all new too me too and I select the auto log thing too. Also what are you guys running for boost stock... . I thought some say around 20 psi and I'm just under 16. Not sure if it's altitude, I'm around 2700ft I think.... I did do wot 2nd and 3rd gear pulls though and only got just under 16 psi. I was not watching the gauge but that's where the little red mark was.

Important pids will vary by user preference
There are a few main pids tho that should always be on your main screen
Timing
Boost
Afr
Off the top of my head those are very important to watch at all times
But as far as what I would have on my main log screen, I would have these items
Timing
Boost
Afr
Coolant temp
Rpm
Iat
Ambient temp
As far as explaination for each pid I think it speak for itself
But imo here is how I see it
Timing is very important to watch since this is a major contributor in power/fuel etc.. And also can show signs of something wrong
Rpm is an obvious
Boost is an obvious
Afr is also and obvious
Coolant temp is a preference of mine. You don't have to have that as one of yours. But I like to see the temps I'm running for various reasons
Iat and ambient temps I like to watch over to see how my intercooler is performing. It's nice to see what kind of temps your producing.

All in all there is no right or wrong when it comes to what you end up looking over. But there are certain pids that are quite important and that will vary person to person

Ability to get all the features
You also need to download the Kia plug-in so you can get Kia specific pids

Just got the pro, way different, it really does give you lots of extra features. Played around a little and now going to get the kia pids. We got half a foot of snow now so probably going to be driving the sorento most of the weekend. So will have to play with it more next week.

Its a MCR usa from ebay seller eurohausv12. It was less than $50 shipped to Canada. Little pricey but I only wanted to buy one, heard bad things about ones from China, although some have had good luck with ones from China too....

So I bought advanced ex kia plug in. Is this the right one. It appeared to only add injector duty cycle and current gear? Is there nothing else? On settings it ask engine model to - a and td- b gamma 1.6? Does not say anything about being turbo though. It shows the optima turbo and other models

I haven't used it in a bit because I have been using another system to datalog
But when you go into the advanced settings you can add the custom pids that don't usually show up
You will find a bunch in there that aren't listed

I found the used predefined list and added all the kia ones but still never got much, mostly has to do with Auto tranny stuff... Not sure if I downloaded wrong kia PID thing or if I need to select different model...
