I just got my obd2 bluetooth thing and have been playing around with the torque app. There have been a number of things that I have or have not observed that have led to some questions.

1. Does the paid app have any added features that are valuable?

2. I've only seen 99.6% throttle in my logs. How do I get that extra 0.4%? Heavier shoes? Or more cake maybe?

3. My main reason for the app was to see my normal boost levels. If they were in the 12-14 range I was going to consider a post intercooler boost source for the wastegate. At full throttle the most I've seen is 15.3. But the peak boost I've seen was 17.9 at 77% throttle during acceleration. Is that normal? I've had several turbo cars but never a boost gauge.

4. Is there a way to see air/fuel ratio?

5. Any tips or tricks?

Most of the app is pretty intuitive but not all of it. Someone could do a write up and throw it in the brand new shiny diy section. Should be simple. Just a guide for people that haven't seen it before.

The paid app gives you almost all sensors. You also need the Kia plug in that I think is another $4.the throttle position is normal. Mine is like that also. 17.9 is normal boost for our car stock. My afr sits at 14 under wot. There is a pid for the afr and afr command. You might have to get the pro version and the plug in.

I meant is it normal to see peak boost while not at full throttle? I wasn't expecting to see my highest numbers at 3/4 throttle but I haven't been messing around with it for too long.
Also the throttle position comment was a joke. Lol

Lol My bad I was on my phone at dinner and was trying to respond fast. It is normal to see boost at 18 even when not at WOT. I will hit 23psi around 3/4 throttle but still not getting the full potential till I go WOT.

Boost is the resistance to shoving air down that long pipe. So when you are at lite that 100 throttle your boost will go up with the same air flow.

On that note, my car was hitting 14 when Kia was checking my car. Torque was seeing 17 at the same fuel cut. I have not had time to do this but there is an adjustment in the settings for boost. Turn your car on but not running, see if the sensor is at 0ish or 14.xx depending on units used and altitude. Adjust that setting to get to that number. I brought the setting is called boost correction. Let me know if it works as I keep forgetting.

Lastly, if you want to earn money on Google play look up Google opinion rewards. You get money fit answering short surveys. I have over 16 bucks right now cause I bought the Kia add on, and then like 25 bucks in fallout shelter. Wife had even more than me, but pvz got her lol.

Also, don't watch to many items at the same time. You only have a small bandwidth so your sample rate will drop with each pid you watch. So if you areclooking for small changes watch fewer PIDs. But if the info can be course, than add more. It's a limitation of obdII not the elm327 or your phone. Some manufactures systems have more bandwidth with their special language or over the canbus

I've tried to not watch too many pids but it seems to respond fine with what I am watching so far.

I'll have to check what my boost is with the car on not running and see. I would like to have the most accurate results possible.

Don't worry about replying to my post at dinner. You've got at least 1 or 2 things there more important than my post, family and food. :)

Yeah it was low 60s and rainy here. So humidity was higher. If the Temps drop and so does the humidity I'm expecting a bit higher numbers.

Also with my car on not running it shows -0.5. I had noticed that before too but wanted to double check.
It makes me wonder if it needs zeroed out or if it's always going to read 0.5 low.

Checked mine this morning. Says -0.3. Pretty sure that is either with in tolerance or just due to altitude. My boost hit about 17 with 100 intake temps. And my fuel pressure curve looks so much smoother now from before they replaced the fuel line.

I was hoping someone could tell me if I am using this boost guage right? I offset atmospheric pressure until the guage read 0 at idle... I really just wanted to know how much it goes up anyway so I figured that was right. Well I noticed that sucker would get up to 22.5 psi! Can't be right... right? No tune.

At idle you should be around -15inHg. When the car is off, you should be at 0.

That's really strange. I have the same adapter and it doesn't set anything off for me. I have heard the cheap ones are hit and miss though. I will be getting a better one when I can but don't feel like paying a ton for one lol

I spoke of this in fortifided . When a guy was bashing me for buying a Defi smart adapter instead of cheaping out. I have read side stories of these things shorting out and causing major issues in the ecm . Torque is an awesome app , but as we also learned in the VW crowd . Buying cheap tools you are asking for trouble . The one 6thelement uses is legit . But cost 100$
