Today i was stoped at a red light when a veloster turbo pulled up next to me, he looked at me and started reving his motor when the light turned green he took off i hesitaded he got a little more then a car length in front of me then i took off , he had a manual transmision because i could see his car jerking when he was shifting gears, i caught up to him so fast i got a car length in front of him and i slowed down because i was doing 60 on a 45 street and i let him go, i was suprised that i was so much faster then the veloster turbo

Yeah! Show those VTs that they have something to be very afraid of. The VTs around here all have women driving them and they never want to race.

I used to be a master tech at Kia and switch to Hyundai for the pay increase so I have had the chance to drive both cars. I find the Forte to be better built by far! The veloster just feels sloppy expecially in the suspension. I would have my Forte over any veloster any day.

I drive a veloster and yes very very sloppy and inconsistent. somedays its a monster and others its a prius. I would like to try out the forte turbos. and true mostly women driving velosters.

sounds like he cant shift either if its jerking around. shifting smooth and fast is the most important thing when drag racing someone.

I have been reading that a lot of guys say that their car one day will pull and other days it wont. I keep trying to figure out why that would be. I have never driven one yet and have only seen a few that were modified.

I don't see a lot of women driving them around here. I have been trying to find one that I can run just to see the difference.

That's really strange. I wonder if it's the tune. Mine pulls hard anytime I want but I have a tune so not sure if that's why.

This is exactly why i need the tune, a hot pipe, get rid of my muffler and like a million other things lol I swear reading all those memes about being broke because you spend it on car parts is so accurate haha

I have a 2015 koup sx in automatic, when i start my car for the first time in the day the motor revs at 2000 rpm i usualy wait a minute for the car to warm up untill the rpm goes down to 1000 rpm before putting it in gear, i noticed if i put the car in gear as soon as i start it when its at 2000 rpm the car feels much much more powerfull, i wonder if i dont warm up the car and put it in gear when its at 2000 rpm as soon as i start it is my car pulling harder ? And if yes will it pull harder threw out the whole day or just for the first time i start the car and put it in gear when its at 2000 rpm ? And also is it harmful to my car not to warm it up and put it in gear as soon as i start it ?

Try and let it warm up the best you can. I usually just wait like 30-60 seconds for my idle to drop. Not sure if it's bad to just take off right away. But if I'm in a hurry somewhere I might just start it and go. I wouldn't just start it and take off when it's cold outside like in winter time

It will actually have less power while the engine is cold, the ECU limits output until the engine reaches operating temp.

Always let the car warm up before taking off. When you first start the car the turbo is spooling up a bit and the rpm's are to high to just take off. Mainly in a A/T it would be to high to just drop into gear. I let the idle go down to about 1k rpm and then wait another 2 min or so before driving.

my VT is tuned and is inconsistent. I know these engines are sensitive to ambient temps and humidity, it could me that.
definitely let the car warm up. my turbo is a snail if it doesn't get hot enough. for some reason after the tune the car gets warmed up super quick. so by the time im on the road its good to go.
