When you race do you tourqe break ? When you hit the gas and hold the break untill you hit 3000 rpm then release the break and take off, thats how car and driver got from 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds in the 2015 volkswagen golf gti automatic with performance package,Never trust magazines or websites. Whats the best way to take off in our cars ? Is there any tricks to get from 0 to 60 fasterNope our cars won't brake boost. Once it sees your trying to build boost when applying the brakes it will cut power. It's a safety feature so we don't damage our transmission or drivetrain. If you have a boost gauge you can get it to hold right before it builds boost.
A tune lol. You just have to be good with reaction. Practice makes perfect!Whats the best way to take off in our cars ? Is there any tricks to get from 0 to 60 faster
Its amazing how much car technology improved since the 90's. Did you know our cars produce almost as much horse power as the 1993 ford mustang 5.0 v8 and the ford mustang lx 5.0 was the car to get in the 90's and it only made 205 horse powerA tune lol. Well you can always turn off traction and Stability control. I found out about that on here last week and man it makes a huge difference.Whats the best way to take off in our cars ? Is there any tricks to get from 0 to 60 faster
Fastest 0-60 pull I have done while stock was 6.2. With the A/T using traction control doesn't kick in like it does on the M/T (poor M/T is almost like a kill switch). If you know what side stepping a clutch is do the same but with the brake pedal and the right foot (I normally have about 1/2" of shoe on the brake and the other side of the foot already touching the gas pedal) with just a quick push and twist you will still hold the brake for a split second and will flash rpms and start spooling the turbo before the ECU cuts power your foot will be off the brake (this is more for 0-60 times than 1/4 mile). Learn the car and practice practice practice, find a road that is out of the way or nobody goes down and just keep learning a style to launch the car that suits you. After that it is learning when to shift some like to almost redline then shift but that isn't always faster. Having a dyno done to find where your HP and torque peak are and use that zone for shifting and being we have such a tight 1st - 4th it is easy to stay in the sweet spot.Whats the best way to take off in our cars ? I am curious also. If they do it like VW has they will have something really good. Only thing is I won't trade mine for it. Maybe just get another forte and give my wife this one! LOLThis may be a little off topic but I am really glad they are trying the DCT in the VT before the Forte. Work out the bugs over there then bring us the good stuff. Curious if or when we get the DCT what other changes will come with it.
This trans is pretty good just wished it could hold more power, the shifting is very surprising especially in manual mode. Any stock A/T that breaks tires loose 2nd and 3rd is ok in my book lolI am curious also. If they do it like VW has they will have something really good. Only thing is I won't trade mine for it. I have been very pleased with how this transmission is and it makes my suv's transmission look pathetic.
Dang you can break tires loose going into 3rd? I have yet to be successful. Tell me your secret now! LolThis trans is pretty good just wished it could hold more power, the shifting is very surprising especially in manual mode. Any stock A/T that breaks tires loose 2nd and 3rd is ok in my book lol
I think With traction control off and a nice set of summer tires would definitly improve 0 to 60 time's ,Well you can always turn off traction and Stability control. I found out about that on here last week and man it makes a huge difference.
Car and driver got the 2015 vw golf gti automatic with performance package doing 0 to 60 in 5.6 secondsOk so car and driver has the 0-60 for the 15 gti at 5.8sec.
Not that this is accurate but it is another source.
Personally I have raced only 2 gti's and only one was newer. I have to admit the older one had nothing left because I stomped him but the newer one bet me by a ways. Maybe 4 car lengths.
It's hard to admit but they are faster than we are... for now
