Today i took my mom dad and brother shopping at bj's, i weight 225 lbs my brother weights 240 lbs my dad weights 170 lbs and my mom weights 205 lbs that comes to a total weight of about 840 lbs + i had about 200 lbs of stuf in the trunk of my car so all together i had 1050 lbs in my car, i read on edmonds.com that the max payload is 1008 lbs, is the max payload the max weight that can be carried in the trunk or is that the total weight that can be carried threw out the whole car ?

I just found out passangers are included in the max payload, is it bad to go 50 or 60 lbs over the max payload ? What is the max amount of weight over the max pay load can you go before doing damage to the engine and suspension ?

Doing it occasionally shouldn't be a problem but on a daily basis would show more in suspension wear than damaging engine.

When i got out of my car to let my dad and brother out the back seat the rear of the car was so low it looked as if the back tires were about to rub on the body, i am not putting that much weight in my car again

200 lb in the trunk will have a much greater affect on ride hight than in the front seats, I didn't buy mine to carry large passengers, 90% of the time it's just me but the only time I did carry passengers (no warning from wifey) the three big woman in the rear seat could no get to the belts, that's why I kept my 4,000 lb Calais (G8)
