Today I was going down the road and heard a loud (what sounded like) a ricer. I looked beside me and I see a Saturn Ion Redline. Wasn't even sure at first what it was. Young kid driving, kept staring over and revving at me. I turned off on a side road and he followed. It was a long two lane road. He got beside of me and revved (was very annoying and sounded horrible) but I could hear his supercharger whining up. He floored it, and then I did.

Results.....

I won. I passed him and he kept pulling but was still staying about a car length behind, maybe a little more. I looked and seen I was going almost 80mph and slowed down. He turned off on a side road very quickly after I slowed down...(lol)

I didn't know the specs of the car other than hearing the supercharger and the fart can he had for an exhaust.
I looked it up and shows it has a 2.0 supercharger, 205hp. Like I said, he had a fart can on it and I heard a BOV. Not sure what else was under the hood.

But, it was a fun short pull and the first time I had went up against anything in the new car. Very pleased

I beat a Toyota 86 (Toyoto Scion/Subaru BRZ) off the lights just a few days ago. (Only from 0-60km/h as I didn't want to get a speeding fine)

The look on the guys face was hilarious.

Tonight I went out cursing on main street in my city. all the nice cars and ricer cars come out Friday & Saturday night. The only thing that got my attention tonight was a Mazda Speed 3. He came up on me and gave me a look, and shot passed me. I caught up to him at the next stop light. He followed me to the turn around spot (a straight away about 1/4 mile long before you jump back on main street). He got beside of me and we kicked it around 30mph. He pulled ahead of me around 65mph and beat me by a car length.

I knew before we even started he would beat me, but i wanted to see just how much he would win by. I have to day, i was surprised by the result. I don't know if he was a good/bad driver or what, but i thought he would have pulled me more than a car length.

Specs of the Mazda Speed 3:
2.3L Turbo
263HP
283LB Torque

He also had an exhaust from what it sounded like, as well as an intake from the sound of the spoil (could be wrong)

I gave him a thumbs up afterwards. He looked younger...around 16 maybe 17 and wouldn't even look over at me for the thumbs up. Oh well!

Now imagine if you just had a tune, you woulda been 1-2 car + ahead easily....

The mazda speed 3 has 62 more Hp than our cars. The tune I have seen adds around 60-80 I think...haven't looked at it in a few weeks. So it would be a lot closer if not beating them, you're right. The speed 3 weighs more as well. I do wish our car had a 2.0 turbo so we could push more power out.

Yeah the 1.6 is lamee....2.0, 2.4 turbo woulda give like 270ish hp with no tune....Now with a tune close to 320-340. Anywayz around 300hp on a FWD car is wayyyy enough.

You're right. The speed 3 has the 2.3L turbo with 263hp
My friend had a 2010 turbo cobalt SS which had a 2.0 turbo making 260hp stock. He did an exhaust, intake, tune, and his car dyno. At 333 on a mustang dyno which means it's really at 345-350ish. It was a sick car. His tune was awesome.

I would love to have the SRT turbo, 2.4L. They're quick! I wouldn't mess with anything that has an SRT badge on it lol.

I had a srt4 stage 3 turbo/cai/downpipe catback 3''/electronic boost controller/upgraded wastegate/big fmic/etc and i did 360whp on a dynojet so more like 320 whp on a mustang dyno...i was doing 12.8/12.9 on the 1/4 mile ...its the fastest car i've drove by far.

I think we prob can get close to 300hp with tune + catback/downpipe/sri/big fmic...but we wont go any further without upgrading everything/turbo swap...

The new tune stages on the Veloster are looking like it's possible to push past 300. What that means for the health of your engine, I don't know.

Yeah the manual veloster turbo has managed to do 230whp with 270wtq on a dynojet wich is very close to 300hp at the crank. I doubt we will go any further than that tho ....The automatic version is far behind those specs for some reasons...Again it's easy to base ourselves on the tune they managed to come out with on the veloster turbo, since we have the same engine/turbo.

So a few days ago I was at the lights and up came beside me a Fiat 500 Abarth. These little things are pocket rockets 1.4L Turbos and light as well.

Anyway, a few revs, and I could tell his was modded with a blow out valve and he had a boost gauge as well.

Long story short, the KIA chopped him and the guy was seriously pissed haha. I think he followed me for a couple of blocks but then veered off.

lol Kind of what happened to me. Was cruising down the road on the way to a friends house and as I turned onto his street this Avenger jumped up on my tail. I guess he heard the air from me shifting but he wouldn't get off of me. I got annoyed seeing as it's just a baby Charger and I don't really respect the car but I dropped back to second on a 30 roll and nailed it. Took off and so did he. He fell back at least 3 car lengths and decided to let off. I don't think he realized what these Forte's can do. Mine's the first turbo here in my city in a hatch so I think he underestimated it. The look on his face when he rolled by afterwards was priceless. Wouldn't even look at me.

LOL So check this out... My fiance took my car out with her sister to go run errands. Apparently a WRX (She said a subaru hatchback with a blowoff valve) decided he wanted to race her. She gave him a car length from the stop light and then hit it and actually passed him! She said she got a car length ahead and he was still flooring it right behind her.

Okay so I found this tesla model S on the highway and got them to play..uhm yeah my forte had no chance.. that thing smoked me and did not even make a sound.. I know they are fully electric but they pulled away from me as if they were just passing someone on the highway with little to no effort..I felt really ashamed lol

Wife had a 2005 mazda 3 2.0 that was very slow. I'm sure newer ones are quicker but they are probably more in the Forte 2.0 or even 1.8 class. The 2.5 is pretty quick but I think with good drivers in both. Our cars would be slightly quicker. Speed 3 we don't have much chance. we need a tune and probably some bolt ons.

Well yesterday on the way home a guy in a blac bmw z4 came up to me and kept looking at the car and smiling at me. So I threw it into paddle mode and downshifted a few times to let him know I am game and we started at 60mph and did the 3 honk thing and then we were off!!! Low and behold the 5 with the tune and a cai with tork pipe kept right next to him the whole time. He did slightly pull when I shifted into 5th but boost hit hard and I came right back up to him. Needless to say the guy called me a a-hole and I told him you wanted to race not me and you just found out what a kia can do with your 70k car dumb butt! LOL

It was so funny seeing the guys reaction that a kia was staying with him. I really cant wait to get the downpipe and exhaust done!
