Squirrelly Under Brake Load

So I was wondering if anyone else has this issue.

I've got the hatch and whenever I hit the brakes any bit aggressively, it feels as if my back end tries to lift off the ground and it's doing a stoppie. I say this because it feels like it's balancing on the front two wheels as they try turning back and forth very fast. I know there's less weight in the hatch's rear end, but it seems ridiculous?

Hey ragg, I have a 5 SX too. I haven't noticed anything like what you describe with mine. I've had a couple of times when I needed to get on the brakes pretty aggressively and it stayed flat and smooth with little or no front end shake. It might be worth taking it in for service and see what they have to say about it.
Hmm.. Thanks for the input. I think I'll take it in and find out. Almost feels like the front springs aren't strong enough. If they say it's normal, I'll need to look into progressive springs or some lowering springs to take the option of getting wild out of the equation...
Hey just wanted to mention my car pulls to the left as if the front right brake is not working properly.but only at speeds above 75mph and if I break really hard..I had two shops look at it one being the dealership. They said everything looks normal and they also mentioned that they would not test drive the car to the speeds needed to have the issue. So not really sure what to do about it now but maybe its a weight issue like you said? Or maybe springs.. who knows I learned its limits and dont push it too hard.
I'm thinks the issues mite be the crap tires we have.. but upgrading the struts.. mite be the answer since we share them with the Ex models. I think the springs are stiff enough.. a good aliment mite help....
A, we (dealer and aftermarket techs) are legally bound to only road test a vehicle up to the posted speed limit. If you have an issue with something at 70mph and the posted limit is 50, we'll never find it.

B, The Nexen tires are actually quite grippy when warm and tend to react to surface conditions. They aren't exactly "crap". Their compound is only a few degrees "harder" than a DOT autocross tire.

C, Forte uses a trailing arm style rear suspension. Rear end lift under heavy braking is somewhat inherent in the design. I've had a few customers complain that they feel the car "lifting" or "squatting" under braking or acceleration.

D, I find your lack of spelling disturbing. Lol!

From what i have read we have different struts from the EX models. Ours is supposed to be stiffer

SX models have a "sport tuned" suspension. Struts and springs are different from other models. Just took a quick look at the part catalog to verify.
I can ask him if he has time while i am there today for exhaust. If he does i will see if he is willing to let me fit them on the car for pics
I just hit him up on the vt forum to see what he says about it. I know he is busy today at his shop

You cannot base anything as far as pulling when braking at those types of speeds. Any vehicle will do this depending on road conditions

im not quite sure. But in his defense I think he made not be american. The way he types tells me he may be international. hopefully he is not offended by your comment
Once we have a worthy set of adjustable shocks and struts we would have a little more control over how the car dives in the front. Our cars are set up with a braking bias of 70% front 30% rear due to the fact not enough unsprung weight on the rear tires. Lowering the center of gravity will also help keep more weight in the rear improving stability. Then we can go a little more aggressive with our brake setup to something like this now that it has been tuned to a braking system very similar to ours.

Piercemotorsports/Ksport Billet CNC FORGED Monoblock Big Brake Kit

@Forte5, now to get you to have Pierce test fit these on your car while you are there for fitment and rim clearance.
i mean that nice and all, but to me extreme overkill
Why not just get some Quality rotors/pads and call it a day
We will be confirming that this kit fits the monday after Christmas. We didnt have time to get the vt on the rack along with my car today
So you want to be like that lol
Once we hit the 300+WHP area it may take a little more than stock rotors and calipers to stop.

Oh and 350 hp is nice and all, but to me extreme overkill
If it wasn't for overkill what fun would it be
Lol. That wasn't my point but I like the points you made
I was saying that the kit itself is overkill for a stock setup or lightly modded
I should of made myself more clear

Experienced this today . Not all cars do this . Basically it's a first for me that this did happen . I was doing 80 and setup for a break and turn. The car reacted violently . I was able to regain control but now I know all what needs to be addressed . The car is not to light it's too heavy for what it's supplied with . I can feel the weight shift and it's not good
I get this to happen when I am in the canyons. If I am coming up to a corner and hit the brakes and try to turn in super hard she gets a bit out of line. The rear I have the torsion bar and the trunk brace along with the Tork collars. Even with this stuff installed I can get it to be upset super quick when going into corner. I think I am going to switch my modding to suspension after I get my revised tune done and the downpipe since I do a lot of canyon driving. No use in having all the power I want if I can't corner and brake hard. I already got a good price through one of my car club sponsors for slotted and drilled rotors and pads.

Are these pre-made somewhere we can all buy them? I've found front rotors, but not rear drilled or slotted rotors.

they are from R1concepts. Its the same exact rotors that fit the veloster
I saw they had a rear big brake kit for the veloster . Could uneven braking be involved ? Mines did feel as if the back lifted or pushed . Hard to describe . I also heated the brakes up really bad a few days ago because I was driving like a mad man to get to the site where my girl crashed her car . All I could smell was this weird order coming from them . Almost like peanutbutter burning
