How would I get my turbo to where I can hear the "whistle" / "spool"? Is that even a possibility? Without voiding any warranties hopefully.

Keep in kind, this is my first ever turbo. So please dumb down the lingo for me so I can fully understand.

Thanks in advance!!

So I need to get a CAI. Not wanting to do a lot other than cosmetics for now, but next year I would be in the market for a full exhaust. Is there CAI's out there for our koup yet? What brand would I need to lean more towards? I already have the bypass hose disconnected from the intake and that hole caped. And I love the blow off sound!!

6thelementengineering and Turbosocks are both working on CAIs. They already have the SRIs developed.

What kind of price can we expect to see for them? And it will just be a bolt on correct?

What are the benefits of a CAI and a SRI?

There is an intake thred on here where I go into more detail, but to sum it up:

Cold Air - Best (coolest) intake temperatures, will make more power due to cooler temps. Throttle response better than stock, but maybe a split second behind Short ram due to pipe length.
Short Ram - intake temps warmer, therefore less power overall however throttle response will be slightly better than cold air, due to shorter length of piping. Also, Short ram is made from less materials and is most likely going to be cheaper to purchase.

Once I develop a nice replacement intercooler, the short ram temp difference won't really matter.

Motor vehicle Automotive fuel system Automotive design Automotive tire Automotive exhaust

Here is my setup currently its very crude because I built it to test a theory. There is a spectre air filter and connection for flex hose off the top I then added a plastic bucket around the filter to act as a minor heat shield.. the flex hose connects to a sawed off ford turbo hot pipe which is mounted under the car. The end was just the right size then it turns into flat tubing which was a perfect snorkel. Using torq app to monitor air temps it actually does work keeping temps down around 15 - 20 degrees. There is no apparent power loss from bucketing the filter it actually added a really low drone induction noise that my camera cant pick up. I'll be getting more permanent parts this weekend. :)

I would love to see a full turbo back exhaust kit. I was going to take mine to a shop and have it done but really want to see what is going to come out first. What size pipe would be good for this car? Would 3" be ok or 2.5? I just ask because its a little 1.6
