From what I have noticed with mine is if the rpms are under 3000 the ecu will fully unlock the converter when shifting into a higher gear at lower speeds.
Shifting at 2500 rpm is the reason, 30 mph in 5th will unlock the converter and allow the engine to get to a rpm where it is less likely to self detonate from LSPI.Would that cause the rpm jump? If I drive normal I keep the rpm at about 2000-2500 but when I hit 5th say shifting at 2500 it'll jump to over 3000
I wonder if that is something that is either in the tune or different for 2015. Mine can be manually shifted to 6th by 25 mph.Mine won't let me shift to certain gears at low rpm. If I am in 2nd say st 2k rpm it won't shift to 3rd. From 4th to 5th it will only let me shift when it's closer to 3k rpms.
Might be the 2015. I can't get it to shift to 6th at that speed at all. Mine waits for a certain rpm then will let you shift it.I wonder if that is something that is either in the tune or different for 2015. Mine can be manually shifted to 6th by 25 mph.
My A/T Koup is the same as @Forte5 (and I don't have an ECU tune like he does). When I drive in 'manual' mode the computer operates to lock out gear changes unless I am above a certain speed/rpm. I can't remember exactly what the speed/rpm levels are (and I can't test it at the moment because my baby is at the dealer's awaiting its new engine - see my post a few weeks back in the 'Performance' section), but I think its something like as follows:- 5th is locked out at anything below 50kmph and 6th is locked out at anything below 60-65kmph. My Koup was bought in July '14, but the manufacture date recorded under the bonnet is November '13.Might be the 2015. I can't get it to shift to 6th at that speed at all. Mine waits for a certain rpm then will let you shift it.
