Today was the day. Massive thanks to Sean Gooding at Budds' Kia in Oakville, and also Gerry Mraz who was able to work some magic and get the car in the colour I wanted, which was Corsa Blue.
Ok, ok, I'll shut up and let me (not that great) pictures do the talking.
Thanks. Really does look great in the metal. Car is rather nice to drive too. It is rather quick, and thats with it in normal AT and no messing with the paddle shifts. I'd say the manual would be even better. I was tempted by a manual, but wanted the Premium trim (hey, it's a 40th birthday present to myself, so I deserve it!). Too many toys on it. I joked with Sean that we should stop for a coffee break when running through the features of the car.
I'm going to go out for another drive now, as it's getting dark and I've never had HID on a car, so I'm really curious to see what they are like from the drivers perspective.
< speaks through gritted teeth > I'm trying to be very good and not do anything to it, that's difficult! lol
I am tempted by LED Licence plate lights, and possibly upgrading interior lights to LED as well. I think I'll leave it a couple of weeks and see how I feel.
Just got back from another drive. Wasn't on too dark a road so not too sure about HID's but they did seem a little different. Car is purring like a very content kitty cat (odd statement for me as I'm far, far from being a cat person).
Still trying to get home link set up, have a feeling the apartment gate won't work with it
Still grinning like the cheshire cat. Shame tomorrow is a work day, but hey, it's my birthday this week, and I've got the weekend coming up, I have a feeling I might be going for a drive.
Yeah, they had an SX sedan. They did have a red Forte5 SX AT Premium coming in for the showroom, but a bit of juggling around allowed them to swap that for my car in transit, so it was pretty good timing. I've been told that there aren't many cars of my colour and spec around, and it's the first SX Premium the dealership has sold.
I'd always thought Abyss Blue and Corsa Blue were the same colour but different name. I've looked at the Kia USA website and checked Forte 5 vs Optima and it seems that there is only Steel Blue for the Forte 5, which certainly isn't the same as Corsa Blue.
Weird that they would not offer the same colour choices, or perhaps that is just the online configuration and you can specify what you want at the dealership?
Regardless, one of the things that sold me on the car was the colour, and I'm still liking it.
