Whats goooooood my fellow Forte owners??
Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum
My name is Max. I just bought my new Forte 5 door 1.6L turbo (actually still driving on a dealer tag) But i am coming from an Optima SX 2.0L turbo. I have been eagerly waiting for the 1.6L turbo to be released in the forte and as soon as we received on our lot i had to grab it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the optima, it is an amazing car and is very fun to drive. But just like any other vehicle has is weak points, and i needed a change. My vehicle previous to my two optimas i owned a 12 and currently a 14, was a 07 civic Si. This car reminds me so much of it that i just had to buy it.
As you see i mentioned that the car was on my lot. I am a Foreman at a Kia dealership in Pa. I have been here for 4 years and counting, and i absolutely LOVE IT!! I will retire here for sure.

That being said i will be on the forums as much as i possibly can. This is a place for all of us to combine information that we find, share the mods we are doing, and all in all its a place where we come together as Forte owners and socialize. Because no matter who we are we have one thing in common and that the sexy car we can into every day and BOOOOOOOOOOST! Am i right??

Also if there are any vendors on here that need dealer parts in bulk etc. feel free to p.m me and i can help you out.

Have a great day!

looks like we have similar taste. Only difference is my Civic si was a beast. Fully bolt ons and tune. it was just wicked. i miss that thing.
But that's in the past. now i have a new project. I have others things to focus on other then my car. That was the main reason jumping form the civic to the optima. It was a vehicle that didn't need any work to look good or go fast. But i am till the day i die 100,000,000 % car enthusiast till the day i die. SO eventually i will slowly start working the forte.

Sweet dude I might hit you up for some questions later lol.. I just got hired on to one of the kia dealerships in Austin Texas as a tech. Still on the Kia University can't wait to get my hands dirty. :]
Yea man i am here to help! 4 years in the KIa world has been a journey. After you get all your certs and take all your classes if makes it easier. Being the kia foreman is a rough job but i love it. now come to think of it this is actually my 5th year with kia. I mainly am the person in the shop to do all the major diag / major tears downs. You start to see repitition over time and you do certain things so many times you end up making some good money because you know exactaly what is needed for the job. We had a problem with the 10 forte a/t trans, i was getting about 2 a week for a solid couple months. Got my times down to .7 out and .9 in. Also had major issues with 2011 Sorento oil pumps, causuing the cams/cam caps to score very badly. Those took long blocks . Warranty time pays 5.4 , after a few times i ended up beating my time and was able to do it in 4.5
Kia has some shit warranty times, so theres no times to mess around and you have to have your head in the game

No I'm not. Do you know if I could just buy the stock bov? I'm thinking it's that or the dang solenoid
i would just go the synapse cold pipe and diverter valve. They make one for the veloster but it should fit the forte. ive been looking into it. Synapse is the way to go.

Would you by chance have a link for it?

The car goes in Monday night so they can have it all day Tuesday to work on it. I keep getting the code but comes right back. Maybe it's the solenoid for it
