Hey all!
Got a 2015 Forte. Nothing cool like turbo though, sorry.
Second Kia, first was a Rio that was rear-ended and totaled, hope this one doesn't go as quick lol.
Not sure which section to post in, but here because I need help getting the steering wheel off. The '14-15's are apparently different than everything else, and I can find nothing that shows how to do this properly. Even getting the airbag off is different.
Thanks!
Edit: Ok, figured it out. For anyone else that may come looking, you use a flat blade screwdriver into three of the holes on the back. They are not round or square holes, they are a square with one rounded end lol. Pins face outward (from center of wheel) so just stick the screwdriver in there, and wiggle it around, that seems to work. The pins need to push inward, they don't take any force, but I couldn't actually feel anything with the screwdriver until the airbag just popped loose. The steering wheel was difficult for me to align properly, ink marks were hard to see, so you might want to leave the airbag off and go for a quick test drive to ensure its aligned properly before putting the airbag back on.
BTW, the cruise install is substantially more difficult on these. You will need to re-pin the steering wheel connector using the old connector (they are different, looks like due to heated steering wheels) and they are a bear to de-pin without the right tool. Re-pinning in general is not tough, but if there is a tool for it, and it's not more than $20-25, I'd recommend it.
