Here is a video I just happened to get it to do it.. Check out the second pull I did I never let off the gas I'm flooring it the whole time however it stuck at 4k rpms and slowly lost speed... after a few seconds it caught up and did not do it again. Anyone know what causes this? Try to ignore the low tire light lol.

I can't hear the video for some reason but regardless can you explain to me what you are experiencing. Even if I could hear it I would still ask the same question
Take it from the beginning
What do you feel when it does not rev
Do you feel it cut out?
Do you hear anything abnormal?
Etc....

Looks like you just got gas to
Do you top off the tank when you fill?
Or do you stop when it clicks?
Can it be narrowed down to a timeframe right after you refill?

Lol you really need to hear it .. the turbo totally cuts out and it stops accelerating. It will actually throw you forward it stops so sudden.. notice the second pull that's when it does it. I never let off the floor soon as it starts. It happens mostly on down shifting. It does it almost all the time now it's getting more frequent. If im doing 60 and down to 4th it will just sit there for a few seconds then climb. I was in 2nd in this video. I checked the obvious things like hoses and such and no dtcs yet.

Lpfp I'll check that out tomorrow but at only 9k miles?
As a Tech you will realize mileage means nothing..
And yes the LPFP has show shown sign of some debris and or clogging
If you do some Kgis searching there is an article on this issue
You are removing the LPFP and HPFP and inspecting for debris and coking
on the 5 I have confirmed and fixed there was debris in the tank and on the fuel sock. But the major issue was the HPFP being clogged up on the inlet and outlet.
Read over that and follow the procedure and report back with your findings.
I would like to know what you find

Actually I'm not thinking it's fuel related anymore.. In the video you can hear the recirculation valve dump right before it happens as if I was letting off the throttle. I'm still checking the fuel today I'll post what I find.

Wasn't saying that is your definite problem. . But this is the best that can be done with a video diagnosis.

Rulled out low pressure fuel system. Any other idea's? I'm about to open a tech line case. I've checked every hose, low pressure fuel supply, fuel rail pressure, and ran a scan with the kia diagnostic system tablet. I reset adaptives for the heck of it.. still doing it.. the electric waste gate appears to be opening when the problem occurs. And fuel rail pressure is about 2300 during the lag.

does it happen only after repeated pulls like that? like if you do a pull then wait a few minutes will it do it the second time always or just after a repeated pull

It's pretty random.. I can make it do it every time now when I down shift to second going like 35 and floor it. It totally takes a dump like in that video. If I let off the gas and floor it real quick it will continue to accelerate.. But yeah if I hold it it will just sit there at 3500 and fall slowly. I just saw on the computer that the throttle is closing almost acting like it's peeling out but it's not peeling out at all so weird.

funny... i just watched the tuner week video on motortrend for the euro portion, and one of the racers were talking about how their Fiat Abarth was having trouble because they were having problems with the traction control still engaging even though it was turned off... like the computer was actively overriding it

that is the only thing that pops in my mind as an idea or turbo is over boosting and the little solenoid that is is taking a reading at the turbo itself is seeing too much boost and that solenoid is causing the wastegate to open?

did you check the hoses and the electrical connector at the waste gate solenoid?

Take it out for a drive and datalog the major pids with selective display so you get a good refresh rate
Should be able to pin point what's causing this with that
Quite possible it's overboosting but who knows until you get some good data to review
If you like you can send me the file and I can look it over in the morning when I get to work

Time to get "torked" I guess? The over boost with no limp mode....
Bit off topic but that same thing has happened to a family members ford fusion ecoboost. Not sure of cause or fix but he goes to accelerate and it just falls flat then he let off and stomped on it nothing. Did it again and car took off and almost rear ended someone.... ford couldn't find a problem with it....
