Some development will be delayed a for a little bit. Not sure when I'll get my car back. I am supposed to get an update Monday.

The day I drove my car home it has had trouble going into 4th gear in various conditions.
Long story short, traveled to Orlando FL from Savannah GA (4 hour drive, 250 miles) to purchase my SX through many emails with Orlando dealership (Orlando Kia West).

Two days prior to arrival, Orlando Kia North (where car was located) did a dealer trade with Bev Smith Kia in Ft Pierce FL (2 hours away from Orlando). I did not know this trade had happened until arrival at Orlando Kia West.

Orlando West sent a sales rep to get the car for me. 2 hours before closing, I was on my way back to Savannah.

The first time I tried 4th gear, it didn't go. I thought i didn't pull hard enough, since it was a new car and I wasn't used to it. After going back to third and then 4th again, it clicked. The next two times i tried 4th it was fine, and then i was on interstate 6th gear for the next 4 hours.

The last 3 days have been SO ANNOYING because 4th rarely works. I skip the gear now.

Yesterday I went to my local Kia dealer (Kia Country of Savannah) and they had a tech drive it, experience the same thing. Then I waited 3 HOURS for their communication with headquarters on moving forward with repairs.

I had to go back to work, so I left and dropped the car off the next day. I have an Optima Hybrid in the meantime.

I'll keep everyone updated on the results of the warranty work.

That's ordinary. I took my car in yesterday for a complimentary service. I thought I was at least getting new oil. Nope. They just checked over it while I waited for 3 hours. Hope you get it back soon mate.
Got it back yet?

i stopped by there today. They replaced cables and it's still doing it but they said its better, but not 100%. They said they'll update me as soon as Kia Corporate tells them what to do next.

My best guess is new transmission and 2 more weeks of waiting :(
Sorry to hear it mate.
I had to take my car in for work the other day...
When i bought the car, we did a final walk through of the car to make sure there was nothing wrong with it. I spotted an area on the back, not really sure how to explain it as the salesman didn't know what it was either. But it was a raised area on the paint, on the body line next to the trunk. What they said it MAY be is an over spray of the clear coat.
Also, my seat has been having a problem locking into position. Not sliding forward/backwards, but the recline of the seat its self. It's done it a couple of times where it just doesn't lock, so it sits all the way upward making it VERY uncomfortable to drive.

I took the car in and they rotated the gear on the seat and it's locking fine now and also fixed the raise area on the back.
Mine went back for scratches on the hood caused by the giant red bow they had on it in the showroom and a strange noise in the steering which turned out to be the column rubbing on the carpet which hadn't gone in straight. Steering felt slightly better after that.
Got the car back! 4th gear is good to go. They had to replace 3/4 syncros, 4th gear and shift forks.
I'm gonna have a busy Memorial day :)

That's good to know ! It sucks that you already had an issue with your car ...
Yiew!! Hope you're all good now.
Interesting... I've had issues with 1st. At a stop, I have to fight with it to get it into gear at times. The rest of the gears are touchy but it goes in... Wonder if mine are screwed?

I'd have the dealer check it out ASAP.
Bumping an old thread, but I do have a question on shifter feel that I couldn't find in searching. I also do not have access to another Forte M/T. When I shift (1500 miles so nothing crazy, but have had some spirited runs to 4500ish and a little over half throttle), I can really feel it "roll" into the next gear. Not concerned since I've driven a R154 trans from the MKIII Supra that shifts life a bag of d1cks, but then I keep reading out this trans is "buttery smooth". It doesn't kick out of gear or have trouble going into gear; I just get a lot of feel, like it's rolling through the syncros into the next gear. My old talon you'd have to double check it shifted so smooth, but the shift gate in my 2015 Forte 5 sx seems definitive. Any insight or anyone around Bolingbrook, IL that I could compare to?
