I know that there isn't a lot of after market parts for the 2014 Koup SX. I might go for an SRI eventually, but I REALLY want to lower my car. The wheel/fender gap is too much IMO. It would be great to step up the handling too. I believe some engine parts from the Veloster Turbo will fit. The motor is the same but the chassis is most likely different. Does anybody know of anything that fits?

I have seen on Megan Racing, and also Tein, they state their springs will work on the 2014 koup. I haven't called to confirm with them, but if you google "2014 kia forte koup lowering springs" you'll see the two i've mentioned. I plan on calling them and getting a definite confirmation, as well as making sure they will accept a full refund if they happen to be wrong, and they do not fit, before i order. I agree the wheel gap is too large. Ready to drop her down some :) i think the springs i've mentioned lower 1.3-1.5 inches.

Rigid collars are supposed to be a great start for handling. Cheap as too!

This kit is being sold and is supposed to fit the 2014 also according to jdwarehouse that is selling them on ebay for $100 less. Nice kit just don't like the chance of tying up $900 if they don't fit
Waiting on a reply from Megan Racing to see if they have actually been test fit or if they need someone to test it for them.

I had coilovers on my previous 2010 forte, and I have taken some quick looks at my current suspension, and the front struts are a VERY similar design. The rear looks very familiar as well.

ive also seen/read online that the front springs are different but the rear is the same, so the 14's probably have a different spring rate than the 10-13's

Has anyone else tried to get lowering springs or had any luck finding some that will even fit our car? Or even heard back from anyone about them?

I've found some on eBay (probably very low quality springs), but they're listed for 10-13 Koups, but when I emailed them about them.. They claimed they would fit the 14's. I'm not willing to take the risk though. I don't know enough about suspension to buy something without a lot of prior knowledge of the product. I have a friend who said he put springs that were meant for a BMW on his Scion.. He told me that as long as the weight of the vehicles is approximate, then it wouldn't matter. But like I said, I have no real expertise in suspension, so I am not a very good source of information.

EIBACH WANTS YOUR VEHICLE | eibach.com/america

Hello Rick,

The Kia Forte apps have not been confirmed for 2014. We have not brought the new 14 models in for R&D test fitments with our 11-13 kits. Please fill out the form on our website under EIBACH WANTS YOUR VEHICLE, even if you're not local to Southern California. It helps R&D determine what's popular and they will add it to the new apps schedule.

Please check back with us in a few months, new applications are added all the time.

Thank you,
Team Eibach

If your friend had that situation with those springs between a BMW and Scion, I'm sure it was completely coincidental. Although I would be the one to call BS on a statement like that, without seeing it with my own eyes first.

Also, him saying as long as the weight of the vehicles is approximate, then it wouldn't matter. is downright ignorant and I wouldn't trust his opinion about anything car related.
I couldn't even begin to say what's wrong with that statement lol

Most companies list them for the 2014 but it is for the Koup ex which has different springs than the Koup sx. That's why Megan offers springs for the 14 Koup just not the sx.
Yea, SX would have different spring rates and possibly other different spring characteristics. Spring geometry might be the same but material and spring rate is probably different.

those of you who want to lower your FORTE 5s may want to consider researching the European CEE'D GT aftermarket offerings. Maybe join their Forum or FB page. The FORTE 5s are related to them from what I remember reading.

I haven't and not sure if i will. I lowered my last car 2 " and it bottomed out and rode really rough. The wheel gap is about the same as the Forte is and I think with better tires. The Forte will handle just as good or better. I have yet to bottom out in the Forte so probably doesn't need to be lowered any or much more. If there is coil overs that can maintain stock height but make it handle better. I'd be interested.

If your going for handling then strut bars, torsion bar and front sway bar would probably be up your alley
