Hey guys just for the new guys or people that this is their first new car. The dealer does not wax, polish, seal or clay bar your car when they get it or sell it to you. It may just be a thing out here in Cali but thought i would pass it along. I found this out years ago and ever since then i do a full blown detail to the exterior.

So if you want your car to really shine get your favorite product and do a full detail. I usually do a wash, clay, rubbing compound if needed, polish, wax.

So get to know those curves on your new beautiful car and make it stand out from the rest!

i noticed that when i got mine... i would honestly suggest to tell the dealership not to wash the outside sense they use a dirty water bucket more than likely and probably do more damage to the paint than they do good

my car still had the residue from the white plastic on it when i did my post PDI

We clay and wax every delivery

Speaking on that this winter has not been bad as far as snow but we have been getting bad black ice and ice storms.. the cinder they are using is different and has been causing a wreck on my car. weeks after a storm this is leftover and gets kicked up on the car.. i have a good amount of rock chips on my hood and bumper and only 5k on my car. I am not happy but in the end its life.
i had both of my optimas clear filmed but now i don't have either of those cars and the investment is gone. even though i plan on keeping this car for a while its something i can't get myself to buy again since you don't get to keep it
Must be a thing out here ir other dealers that dont do anything to the cars. When i took mine back to the dealer to talk to them about a few things they were all over my car checking it out because it was way cleaner and shinier then what they had it. My bumpers did have the residue from the white plastic and made them look faded. I guess some dealers take more pride lol

There are some dealers that simply just don't give a F***
We take pride in the work we do. Wether its a detail or mechanical work, no matter what they will be treated just as we would our own.

I've been doing detailing in a Kia dealership here in Quebec for 4 years now and every delivery(new car) is washed, clayed and waxed! Doesnt matter if we have 10 car to do or if we have 1, they are all done the same way! Washed with clean water, new water and soap every 3-4 cars, and wash mit cleaned seperatly.. you also need to know that every time we change the water..its lost time!
not my dealership the delivered a soul to someone full of snow a week after the last snow fall. and the one wash kid we have could not wash car for the last 2 weeks cause a pipe brke in theplace they do them
Mine was pretty clean when I got considering it was in the middle of winter, I did a quick wash the other day just to get all the damn salt off. I won't see it truly shine till it gets warmer though.
