So gave this one a try:
JDM Red Stitch Perorated Shift Boot Cover PVC Leather Ergonomic Ball Shift Knob | eBay
Knob did work with the reverse lockout just didn't have the spring that the OEM one does to give it a more substantial return than just gravity. Felt great in my hand thought I had found something that would work. But then I went to shift...the rubber size adapters in this just ruin it. Gives it a spongy feel where it will tilt and rock beyond the point of the engaged gear. If they were hard plastic of metal adapters(or it was just sized properly to begin with) this could work. May have to see if I can just find something like that. Or just be patient and see if someone releases a proper leather shift knob for our cars.
Shift boot would require disassembling the current one and getting reverse lockout mounted to the new one. I may just look into a local upholstery shop and have that done.
However, props to Kia for having the easiest to remove center console I've ever encountered. I accidentally dropped one of the sizing screws down into the parking brake gap. But the whole thing just pops right up only secured by some clips so it was easy to retrieve.
Will be throwing the steering wheel cover on this weekend. That looks like it will work out fine.
