So I figured this would be a good thread to have for those with the stock BPV. I can add to this post if others have more ideas.
Since we have a diaphragm style BPV stock it is prone to tears and I have seen some reported as early as 1-2k miles on the car. I honestly think that this is where kia/hyundai dropped the ball on us and gave us something that is crappy.
So here are some signs your BPV may be going out or the solenoid
These are basic symptoms of what can be a sign of your BPV having a tear or the solenoid not working properly. To confirm your BPV has a tear or not is either take it to the dealer or take it off yourself and check the diaphragm for any cracks or tears. If so you can replace the stock BPV with a TurboXS SML Hybrid BOV

- Fluttering under WOT
- Consistantly hearing the BPV under any load
- Code p2261
- Boost pressure not as high
- No boost under any condition
- Boost fluctuating under power
