I bought some HIDs a couple weeks ago, after looking under my hood and seeing that I was probably going to have to take off my bumper and inner fender well, I decided to have someone else do them. They told me it would take an hour...4 hours later, they were done. Apparently installing them in our cars is a "BITCH!" So I'm glad I left it to the professionals! They did have to take off my bumper and inner fender well. They said there was a problem with the ballasts and trey also couldn't get the high beam HIDs to work, so I have them for low beams and in my fogs. They told me the reason why it wouldn't work but I didn't even understand what he was saying so I can't even tell you.

He also told me before I left to turn my car on, THEN turn my headlights/fogs on. And make sure to turn the lights off when my car is off. Just an FYI for anyone planning on putting HIDs in as well for our model.
But they turned out great bad I'm very happy with the look.

I told them to snap a couple pics while it was off, or call me back there when it was off for me to take pics, and they did neither! I went to the desk a few times to ask how much longer it was going to be and they kept saying 20-30 minutes, which ended up being 4 hours and they never let me go back there. when they pulled my car around i asked about pics and they said they forgot....

Stupid question, but on the SX Premium, which comes with HID, one assumes it's the low beam that is HID? Is High beam also HID, or HID plus Halogen (as the main would be halogen). Never had HID's on a car before so not sure. I know, I know, I will know for sure when I get the car, but am curious.

i actually don't know, honestly. I would imagine for the price, the high beams should be HID as well lol but who knows. How about let us know!? Haha. When are you expected to get your car?

I was more concerned about low beam being HID, as if it's just high then that isn't great, as who really uses high beams, I've very rarely used them, only on lightly travelled roads, or very late at night when there is light traffic on the highway.

Funny you should mention "when", dealer emailed to say I can swing by on Monday and pick up the car It's going to be a looooong couple of days!

I would imagine if anything, the low beams would be HID. but, let me know when you get the car.

And congrats! i bet you're excited! from my test drive, to the time i got done finishing up paper work was 3-4 hours, and that was too long for me! i can't imagine a couple days! Maybe swing by the dealer on the weekend and at least take a look of it?

I just went out to the garage to double check... you got me curious too. I knew the low beams were HID but wasn't sure on the highs cause I never used them . The high beams are HID plus halogen.

It's actually been a week or two, had to wait for the car to come in due to colour and trim level, should be worth the wait though.

Thanks for checking the highs, makes sense they are halogen given the lack of use they typically get. Of course, I'm sure if one wished they could do a bit of DIY to upgrade them

Did you get any relays or anything with your hids ? I have the low(headlight) and fog hids but somehow my right side low(headlight) and fog are flickering while the other side is fine....that's really wierd idk what to think.
