Hey everyone. This thread will be the extension of a conversation that has been going on in the "Official tuned thread"
This topic needs its own thread since its going to be a pretty wide spread issue.

I need to get all the info together in one post, which is going to take some time. So for now. anybody that has been experiencing any type of hesitation while accelerating. Please list your Year/chassis (2/4/5 door)/mileage and transmission type... and in detail what you are experiencing to the best of your ability
i have been non stop working with an engineer on this issue and particularly with my vehicle, but now have 2 more added to the list which are two stock vehicles on the lot at my dealership.
regardless of severity of what you are feeling, please let me know!! Sometimes its the little things that make a huge turn around in finding what the cause of this could be

Hi: I have a 2014 5door SX auto that has about 10,000Km on it now. Mine hesitates mostly when when trying to accelerate fast from a slow rolling start; ie rolling up to an intersection to make a right turn but not fully stopped. If you try to gun it to make the turn when the oncoming traffic clears it often has a big flat spot for about a second or so before it will accelerate. It can be a little disconcerting. I always assumed it was just turbo lag but it never seems to hesitate much if you just floor it from a dead stop. (Not that I do it that much :))

Throttle tip in? I believe that you are experiencing your first DBW (drive by wire) throttle car... I could be wrong. My old Matrix was DBW and initially there was some albeit tiny hesitation, but either the car's ECU learned my driving habits or I really got used to it. I believe the former and not the latter.
No. This issue is totally different form dbw tip in. And I have had plenty of dbw vehicles with dbw to differenciate.. But thanks!!

Koup, manual, 2014, 5005 miles

I seem to notice it when the motor is within about 10 - 20 minutes of being on. Similar to Forte5sx, it's more noticeable rolling than from a dig. IIRC, the power is just dead until about 3k . After it's plenty warm, the issue doesn't seem as prevalent.
Hey, I can confirm that this is a common issue on the 1.6 turbo, us VT owners struggle with hesitation as well.

There is a fix we found that may or may not work. Its worth a shot:

We have already found the fix
Me plus another member have a. 2.5 inch hotpipt upgrade.
Hesitstion is gone
Also the door on the intake is not relivant to the forte. We dont have that

Interesting. So, it seems that the SRI I'm getting from 6th should go miles and miles in fixing this issue.

*edit Or apparently not, hah. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
2015 forte 5 door a/t 3,600 miles

On mine I always feel it hesitate or surge no matter what in the lower rpms If I am not near half throttle you can feel the car do a push pull type thing where it wants to get then something kicks in and the car jerks like it is struggling to get speed then all of the sudden take off like crazy. Mine has done this since new. If I go half throttle or more then I don't notice it because it boosts higher. I really notice it between 0-10psi

Lol damnit get a hotpipe.
waiting on funds. I am going to see if Jim at peirce can make one for me when I go in to do my exhaust. He has a mandrel bender and can possibly make a 1 piece and just 2 couplers.

No the part from 6th is the intake
The hotpipe it the pipe running from the turbo to the intercooler. Or the. "Hot" side of the turbo piping
6th is currently making on to
Nah, I thought we had a flapping door in our airbox a la veloster.
6th is currently making on to
Wonder if he will jump in here and talk about it soon.
