Hi guys,

I have purchased a H11 HID kit for my 2014 Koup after reading through the info on the forum. Now I have had a mechanic who put the HID kit into my last car have a look at doing this one.

My question is - Is the H11 bulb from the kit I purchased not right.... The mechanic has told me the H11 won't fit and I need a H7 bulb. Below are a couple pics of the bulb from the kit.

For anyone that has installed aftermarket HID's, can you supply pics of how you have them fitted if you had to do some modifications to make the bulb fit. .

I have the H11 HID bulbs installed in mine. Only thing I wished I did different was the location I made the hole for the harness in the dust cover. Center behind the bulb made it a tight fit for the plug and wires (Mirimoto uses a bulb with a plug).

Our cars have H11 bulbs (make sure he isn't trying to make it fit in the high beam) for low beam, H1 for high beam and H11B for fogs (H11B can also be used in low beam to reduce shadowing).
This is a picture of the only modification needed to install the kit I used.

Because of the location I made the hole in the cover I also had to trim a little of the plastic off of the connector for the bulb (you shouldn't have that problem with your kit).

You bought from TRS? I still have yet to install mine. Need to get some cutting tool for the pass through, heh.

Did you remove the headlights or just winged it?

I purchased directly from Mirimoto but I believe it is the same kit TRS sells (H-11 Elite 35 Watt with Canbus).

I actually pulled the whole bumper cover off and mounted the modules on the crash bar out of the heat of the engine bay and ran the wires under the headlamp assy.. For the pass through all you need is a corded/cordless drill and what is called a unibit (3 pack at Harbor Freight is around $17) and you can make any size hole from 1/8th" to 1" just don't do it in the center of the cap like I did.

I would still do it in the cap since it would be easier to replace should you ever want to remove the HIDs. If I had to do it again I would make the hole about a inch over from current on the side farthest away from the high beam.
