In the next few weeks I will be taking a look under the car to see what options there are for simple and quick mods.
First thing in mind I have done for other cars that is easy and not too expensive is a catalytic converter delete, which will give nice gains for the money.

Eventually, I will go into downpipe and cat-back development.

I'd like a catted/gutted down pipe that doesn't throw cels. I saw my first Koup drive by on the weekend. Surprised how quiet it was. Seem to get more noise inside the car.

Anyone modified their exhaust yet? Resonator delete? I want some exhaust sound.
I'm getting a 3'' custom straight pipe full turboback....Once it's done i'll record a vid so it gives you an idea.

Should be done within 2 weeks or so....!

After it's done, can I pay you to borrow your factory downpipe? It will let me have it jigged and i won't have to keep taking mine in and out to make a welding fixture to build a downpipe :)

I will promptly return it after I'm done with it!

So I didn't want to start another thread here about exhaust so I figured I would post here.

I am wondering if anyone has deleted the second cat that is on the mid pipe along with the stock resonator yet. I am really thinking of doing this to see how it would sound even with the stock muffler. On my 5 it a big big suitcase style muffler in the rear. It is like a older camero style where it is sitting the width of the car and then 2 tips come out the back. I am thinking that deleting the midpipe cat and res could give it a nice decent tone and help with some power since the cat isn't there anymore.

Thoughts?

"Big" is an understatement... More like a small car sitting up under there lol. I had the resonator deleted but I couldn't find a place locally that would cut the 2nd cat out. Even went to my regular shop where they've done it in the past for me but wouldn't this time. Deleting the resonator alone is barely noticeable, just a tiny bit louder with the slightest bit of gurgle when you let off. Plus, I couldn't notice any difference inside the car with our motors being as loud as they are.

If you can find someone to cut both out or if you can do it yourself, I would do it if the price was right. Otherwise, it's probably not worth it for the resonator alone.

I think it would. The resonator alone seemed to help open up the flow a little according to my butt dyno so I would think getting rid of that 2nd cat would help with both flow and sound. We need downpipe options lol.

I figured if I got rid of the cat and resonator a exhaust shop would touch it then to do my 3" dual muffler setup. They won't touch the cat at all

I was thinking of buying a exhaust builders kit and put a MagnaFlow in line and Y pipe it to the rear. I was told by Jim at peirce to run 2.5"

I am going today to get a piece of pipe to delete the second cat and resonator. I am hoping once I do that a shop will actually touch the car lol. What size is our stock pipe? is it 2.25?
