Congrats, especially if this is your first car... heck of a first car :) I too have a black one, they are hard to keep clean but are sexy/sleek when clean. Manuals are bit harder to find then the A/T's, they are similar in speed though so it comes down to driver engagement. I didn't feel like dealing with all the traffic with a manual... but I like the A/T on this. it's pretty responsive and the first 3 gears are super snappy. The 5SX in my opinion is best bang for buck on the market when it comes to having both speed and space at this price point. Have fun and be safe :)
I love having a manual but yeah in traffic it does suck a little but almost all my cars have been manuals so im used to it. I just feel like I'm in more control of the car when I'm driving. If you want to go fast though, it requires a fair bit of practice and skill. I've seen some guys run 16s in 13s cars or worse. Some days its nice in the wifes Sorento, just push the 1 pedal and it takes off, no effort required.
Yeah, its my first car in reality though I had a Ford Escape V6 but its forward clutch went out a few months after I got it, so in truth this is the first car I got. I love it, I have a few car buddies and it outruns their modded FRS's and handles better than my buddies G37 IPL package, and im super satisfied.

The A/T is good since I daily drive this thing, and the manual was non existent in Georgia basically and I needed a car. My mom also has the Sorento, and I can compare the two and the transmission on my 5 is definitely more satisfying to shift and the first 3 gears are definitely snappy. The only complaint is the small wiggle in the steering wheel which I also noticed on my mom's car, and when I stomp the pedal, the engine shifts just a little too soon for my liking. Other than that, this car is less than a GTI, can easily be modded to be better than one in terms of performance for price. Looks better IMO, and is a KIA! With standard 100k mile/10 year warranty and 5 star safety rating. Literally, the best car I could have bought. The Ford Fiesta ST was a manual and was a little quicker but was way too small and the features for tech were totally unnecessary. And to top it off, it was made by a German Auto Designer, just saying :D

I will try and post some photos tonight of her, I took some an awesome one in the mountains up in North Georgia a few weekends ago. Thanks for being so welcoming! It's awesome I could find a forum where people actually mod these things! I figured once i bought a KIA Forte5, I was going to have to make everything I wanted to do on it and me and Mighty Car Mods were going to be great friends! Of course, the aftermarket selection isn't anything like it is for a POS Civic, BUT, that's because this car doesn't need a lot to make it even better than it is, its pretty good in terms of handling, adequate power, and braking. What else could you ask for?

Wow, wish I had one of these as my first car! Welcome and congrats!

Where in Georgia are you?
Hello guys, I'm new here myself. I just got my 2015 F5 turbo M/T last week and I love it. Plenty of room for my girl and our 1 year old daughter, and pretty good pep bone stock. Does anyone make any mods for this car yet? I want to increase my boost a little and get some coilovers for a better stance.

Increase boost you need a tune. Parts check out damnfastdd.com that's tork motorsports Web site.

Also welcome!
Yeah the M/T is a pain to get unless you live on the west coast. I spoke to someone about it because I wanted the M/T but he said they mostly go to CA and you have to special order it which takes time and money. Both I was not happy for so I magically got a hold of my A/T
I can tell you that the M/T does not come to Cali. When I bought mine they looked all over Cali for a M/T that was fully loaded and couldn't one. They found 2 base ones but I didn't want the base. I am actually happy I went with the A/T since I daily mine 200miles a day. I love M/T but my last car was stick and was super tiered of it in traffic.

This A/T is actually awesome. Love the way it shifts and is actually pretty quick at shifting. I do like how it downshifts just waiting for you to hit it.
Are the M/T's hard to find in general? I've been looking for a Koop as a friend wants one after they drove mine. I can't even find another SX in this city! They are lol EX and they want my car w/ mods lol. But not red even though they love my red.
The M/T's will be harder to find as the majority of sales are automatic, they exist but you have to look for them. The SX being the top of the line Forte won't have the production numbers that the EX's have, so won't be as many out on the streets. I've only seen 5 SX's(4 F5, 1 Koup) in Ohio so far, and DMO is one of them.
Abyss Blue koup here. I've had enough hatchbacks in my life and the wife wanted something similar to the Integra coupe. We have 2 kids, but when we go out as a family, or with another couple, we take the Sportage. Nobody will probably ever sit in the back of the Koup, so we could care less about space.

Thanks man. I know it's a new car so parts will come in time but I'm so eager. I just got out of my 07 suzuki sx4 hatch which was a tank but had no power so I'm doing much better.
Forte 5 SX manual, because A/T is for sissies!

So I must be a sissy for having a a/t that can outrun m/t cars pretty quick and I can stay on boost and not have to let my foot off.

People buy what they like. I bought mine because I commute 200miles a day and was getting tired of shifting in over a hours worth of bumper to bumper traffic. I love m/t but with back problems and traffic I will settle for a sleeper a/t like mine

I just bought a 2015 forte5 sx T-GDI. The last fast car I had was a 92' Nissan 240sx hatch with an s14 sr20det. Now that thing was fast. I love this new kia. I can'T wait for a turbo back exhaust!
i came from a 2 door 2002 Toyota Solara. i don't have any kids but there was a lot of other things i disliked about having a 2 door car. main reason being that i would toss stuff in the back seat and it would be hard to get to.
also, out of the few times i had passengers in the back seat of that Solara, i was really wishing i had 4 doors.

i really wanted to get into a hatchback and am super glad that i found the Forte5. had been looking at a VW GTI, Focus ST and even Subaru WRX hatch. Forte5 is way more bang for buck and i'm in love haha.
i will absolutely never own a VW vehicle. the dealership upset me that much when i was there...

i really wanted a hatch for that extra trunk space. i do a lot of biking and prefer to travel with it inside the car.
The only thing I wish was different on the 5's is with how far the ass sticks out, a bit more aggressive spoiler would have been nice. Looks great from behind but a bit subdued from the side profile. Nothing crazy, just a little more aggressive.
