Disable popup when connecting phone via usb?

Just got my Forte5 SX UVO non-nav. I don't keep music on my iphone(just stream) but want to charge it with the usb. However, whenever I plug it in it has to search the phone and throw up a pop up saying that it found nothing. Any way to disable that?

Probably have to change USB settings in phone to charge only. I used to be able to do that on my old Android, but I can't on this new one..
I hated it when mine did that so I just went with a normal charger in the cig outlet. Nice that it has 2 if needed

UVO is just a big fail, mine just has connection errors with anything that gets connected Android or Iphone / Ipod. Bluetooth connections only.
Is yours the nav or base one? I have the nav and haven't had a issue with it yet
No problem with my non-Nav connecting in Bluetooth. But I noticed when I have it connected and have Waze running alerts will not pop over the sat radio as they do in just about every other head unit I've used in recent years.
First off if your screen name is teletext to the band of the same name then awesome.

Waze would have to send the alerts over bt. So if you are on sat it will not send them. I have never seen a radio do this, but that does not mean it's not an option out there. Any one have any insight on this one?
Yes it is. Fat Wreck Chords ftw.

But yeah other head units I've used the Waze alert would pop over any other source that was playing just like it was a phone call coming in.
Awesome, i got to see them twice before Tony passed. Still one of my favorites.

Were the units oem out aftermarket? Have an escape of one so I can look it up? Would like to research this more
Let's see. The Clarion NX404 in my wife's RAV4 does it. As did the Kenwood DDX371, JVC KW-R800BT, and the oem radio in my autobahn VW GTI.
Thanks going to look into this and report back
And when it happens the head unit would display the phone panel just like a call was coming in.
That's actually another nail in the coffin for the stock head unit for me. If I can just find one that can use the stock backup camera...

Most aftermarket units will work with the factory camera you will just have to make your own power supply for the 5 volt power source. There may already be a wiring adapter for it out there, I just haven't looked in the last year.
This is almost identical to what we are using for powering mounted tablets, cameras and adding usb ports for charging (this doesn't list if it is 2.0 or 3.0 but would be fine for most applications)

PAC® IS43 - iSimple 5 Volt USB Power Oulet Dash Mountable

Mine also don't come with the usb port or the bracket but that can be removed lol
So I don't know what(or if) I did different but the stereo started playing Waze bluetooth alerts. That popup is still annoying but not annoying enough for me to scrounge up a usb power adapter and use that instead.
Well I finally figured out what's going on. Plugging in the phone to the USB port seems to just kill the Bluetooth streaming. Don't plug it in and the Waze notifications and Pandora streaming work fine.
