I purchased a check valve for my can and was wondering about the pressure in the vacuum lines. I tested it to make sure the flow only goes in one direction. There is some resistance necessary to open the flow in the valve. Will this additional resistance from the check valve present any issues?

You don't really need to install one, as the OEM line has one already. This is why I don't include them with my kits.
Maybe they got smart and realized the PCV doesn't work alone and started installing them but I know when I took the intake manifold off to make the heat shield I looked at the whole line and it didn't have one either (my evap purge line does). Going to do a thermal blanket wrap for the intake so when I have it off again I will double check but I can move air both ways with just my mouth (oil and gas vapor taste test lol).
