Carbon Fibre K Badges Installed

5017 Views 23 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  mikex.18
Hey there guys, I finally got all my carbon fibre badges in and decided to put them on last night. Here are the results of new k badges and de-badged rear. Glue is a huge PITA if you don't have something good to remove it with!

Let me know what everyone thinks and I will be sure to post pics of the steering wheel badge once I install that as well. Unfortunately the steering wheel badge is not carbon fibre though.

looks great!!
I was going to order these carbon badges a few months ago but waited for the Black edition ones to be released. I ordered them last week but due to weather they are held up in USPS outer space.

As far as the glue. Use a heat gun and very lightly heat up the emblem. With a needle nose or any type of pliers, once the emblem is warm it will pop right off. If done correctly no glue will remain, but sometimes there will be some left over. In that case you can use denatured alcohol or paint thinner to remove it. Just make sure to put on a layer of wax where you cleaned.
Love the badges. I want the carbon badges too. Where did you order them from and what did it cost? I'm from alberta and looks like your from Saskatchewan so price should be about the same shipped. I De badged my forte badge and the dealership had a sticker there too but yeah I had a hard time getting the glue off nicely as well. I'll have to try paint thinner if i remove my koup or t gdi badges.
cant wait for my special badge to show up.. and it on like donkey kong
You can order the badges from k5optimastore.com
I just ordered from k5optima

And they dont have the F5SX in their choices, ordered too fast and choose Forte5

I sent them an email to see if they can send me the right ones loll
There both the same thing anyway so your fine

Actually no..normal forte5 have 130mm in front and sx has 115mm
Ok yeah that's not what I'm referring to
I'm speaking as far as the new emblems are concerned you don't really have a choice due to the size of the new ones
Small 4.3" x 2.20"
Medium 5.04" x 2.56

If you measure your stock emblem its roughly 4.5 x 2.25
There for regardless of 5 or 5sx it doesn't matter
These new emblems are usually a smidge smaller anyway
Yeah i know they are a bit smaller

But if i get a medium and a smalp..the medium one wont even fit in the space in the front bumper
Exactally my point
You ordered ones for the forte5
And they don't even lost an option for the SX
There for they will send you 2 smalls and you are set

I'll see what they'll tell me

I sent them an email and told them the situation

I hope that they will fix this for future customer
I do understand what you are saying now

With the 5 door base being bigger and the Sx being smaller it defiantly causes an issue with sizing for ordering

I went and mesure it on a base F5 in the showroom at work and went mesure mine. And mesured a Koup!!

So what we need is a combo of
Front from a Koup and rear from a F5
I ordered the ones for the F5 and they are perfect. I just put 2015 Forte 5 and they line up just right
Lol I just took the chance lol. You can always email them or call. They are local to me and might go there monday
Well im french.. so my speaking sucks in english ahah

When I ordered mine i just selected forte 5 and they fit on my forte 5 SX. they are both small size badges and are interchangeable for the front and back.
