I see there are lots of Forum members who have installed broken K badges, either as complete replacement badges or as stick-ons ie; covers over the original Kia badges.

I went with stick on ones (thinking I can easily remove them should it come time to sell my Koup) from Korean Auto Imports. They work really well, and are super easy to install. But there is one slight hiccup - the badge for the steering wheel is about 2mm too small, with the result that you can see the edge of the original Kia badge sticking out from underneath. Also, being too small it doesn't have enough curve to fit properly over the top of the existing badge and because of that it lifts ever so slightly at the edge. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I ordered the right set of badges from KAI - I didn't mis-order and select the wrong model / year.

I don't want to replace the steering wheel badge, but it might be the only way to get a properly fitting, clean looking badge.

When I did mine it was a pain to match up to make it look right and I need to get another one because when I did get it right and while pushing it all on it moved so I will be getting one in the next few weeks. I bought mine from K5 also.

If you get a stick on one I'd be interested in knowing its measurement - like SXT noted in his previous thread (sorry, wasn't aware of that thread) the stick on badges are a few mm too small. If it ends up fitting okay, if you could post a photo that would be great. If you aren't running with a stick on one and are instead going for a full replace then don't worry - I'm not planning on doing a full replace. Cheers.

It was an old thread, and I was feeling too lazy to retype it. I'm at the dealer right now, I'm going to see if they sell that emblem separately.

EDIT: Nope, said it was a piece of the airbag. Advised me to check online.

@Mikex.18 - thanks for the photos. It seems like the full replacement version fits perfectly, and that the stick-on ones (like mine) are the problem size. For future use, how difficult is it to remove the original badge (some light leveraging around the edges with a small flat blade screwdriver?) and to fit the new badge?

Cheers.

Thanks Mikex.18. A stick on, after removing the original badge - a combo option, in effect. Nice idea. Now if only I'd thought of that before sticking my badge on....... :)
