Hey guys I have a issue with my bov not going off like it should and throwing a check engine light. I have been talking to itsjustme and he told me to check the vac on the line from the manifold and I did and when i rev it up the vac stays the same. So next I took off all the vac lines on the solenoid and blew through them. I blew through the top one that connects to the bov and it can freely pass through to the vac line to the manifold. If I pulg the manifold line and try to blow I get nothing out of the line going to the intercooler. I did try the intercooler line and still nothing. I also heard a bit of a release from the vac line going to the bov and thought that was strange. After putting it all back together it worked perfect yesterday with no issues. So now the issue came back and there is a pending code for the turbo bypass valve (mechanical) on the ecu. I did take it to kia the day after I bought it because it did this and they are saying that the line to the manifold kept blowing off from over boosting the car.

I was told by itsjustme that the line shouldn't blow off like that. Well I zip tied it on and it hasn't since. I am going to drop the car off tonight but it is really bugging me that it's not working right and would like to figure out the issue. I do hear when I release the pedal like it it releasing through the wastegate which can't be good at all!

I am thinking that your right about it leaking boost. I will check when I get home from work tonight. I was almost thinking of doing the cold pipe upgrade for the veloster and do the bypass to go around that solenoid

The stock BPVs are the same. The intercoolers are what is different.

The cold pipe from the Veloster will NOT fit on the Kia. The Kia cold pipe is smaller than the veloster and the veloster is already small and hard to make work.

You guys can't use one of my BOV setups either because of how Kia conveniently placed the stock BPV.

So we have to do a full fmic then if we want to replace the bov and cold pipe?
it would have to be a custom job for now just like ITSJUSTME posted in his FMIC FMCAI thread. You can take this route or just wait for 6TH to make his.
But if you read through the whole thread he is working himself with a shop to fabricate a setup to duplicate his but to my knowledge with a better core.

Are you a/t or m/t.. are you feeling the hesitation/surge I have been speaking of?
a/t you wont feel it as much and characteristics will be slightly different. information ITSJUSTME and I have been sharing confirms this

Yeah he is. He better start making them! I am very impatient!
He is in Florida and I am in PA. parts are going out today via post office. so figure atleast 5-7 days for delivery. depending on what type of priority he is using. I am not asking any questions besides for a tracking number (if there will be one) since he has not once asks for any money for the parts and or shipping ( nor have I asked if he wants any, now come to think of it that was quite rude of me) so that being said I would hope to be in possession middle of next weekish . install will happen the day of since I have such easy access to do so.

Would be nice to see if it does work. I am almost ready to buy one of those intercooler pipe kits from ebay just to get and idea of how to run the fmic and pipes.
