Do you think these would work on our cars?

Just like the RedLine Tuning hood struts, I'm guessing all there is are stronger pressure.

Would be cool if someone made an aftermarket sensor like the Fords.

I would actually love this for getting my tools into the back of R2. Good find if it works
That would be killer to have. Mainly for when I go to the store and have a bunch of bags I am holding lol

The new Elantra has the sensor. You walk up, stand there and it unlocks. Too bad the struts are weak sauce and you still have to manually open the trunk. I'm guessing with a glass window a hatch is very heavy so these struts must be STRONG LIKE MR. CLEAN!
I'm still puzzled why Kia has a physical button on the door handle rather than just unlocking on approach. But they go and make the mirrors unfold and light up instead. Which if I've got the mirrors on auto and am working in the garage just makes them go nuts every time I pass by. I know you can buy a pricey module to change that though.

Walking back and forth, they just keep opening and closing ALL DAY LONG! Drives me nuts... Then I squat down with the keys in my pocket and the alarm goes off!
You can turn off the mirror folding with the switch on the door.

Yeah I have just taken to folding them in with the switch as I pull into the garage. Gives me an extra couple inches to maneuver in our tight 2 car garage which really does make a difference.
Sometimes while loading the trunk, I will set off the alarm / Panic horn. Honestly, apart from finding your car in a parking lot, this alarm is pretty useless.

Regarding the automation of having the doors unlock/lock according to proximity, that is a good mod. K5 Optima's has it at their store. I wonder how much labour would be to install it though. .

As for my CEL, I reset it within Torque. I hate seeing that while driving because I feel like I'm doing something harmful to the engine/car. If it comes back I might go in but like I said, dealerships give me too much stress, lol.
