Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows if you can buy a non-nav unit for a 2017 that has CarPlay and install it in a 2016. If you can do it, where would you buy one from??

Have heard that they have already made such swaps over in Korea and it was plug and play. But until they start hitting scrap yards you'll be stuck paying dealer prices that would buy you 3 nice aftermarket systems instead.

I don't think any of the OEM Non Nav (AVN) head units have CarPlay / Android Auto support. I think only the Nav (AVN) units have it, and from the info I've pulled from KGIS website, the 2017 AVN unit has a different shape / style "C" connector on it, plus a WiFi antenna socket.
Here's a couple of pictures of the 2017 AVN unit so you can see what I mean. I do also have PDF's for the wiring diagrams for it too.

I was hoping it'd be a plug and play thing, but seems not to be :(

For comparison, here's the same info for the AVN unit from a 2104, which I suspect would be the same for 2014 - 2016 cars
