From google searching (dealership staff are clueless) at least we will have a 2017 Kia Koup. What do we know about it so far?

KIA announced on 2017 Kia Forte Overview long time ago revised versions of Forte and Forte5.
Engines remain same, but SX will be optional with DCT instead of TC automatic.

As for Koup. There are rumors it will receive a small visual update just like other models and similar powertrain as it has now. It seems 1.6 will get detuned to about 175 HP, but torque will be shifted into lower rpm band. Something like Hyundai did.

Anyway, nothing spectacular.

We probably won't see a Koup like the Brits and German's get - that Proceed GT. Like VW won't likely bring over the 220 hp clubsport. I have access to a few nice Graphite SX and Silver sx Koups - within California and locally here in Cali - at end of year prices. Went and sat it one for headroom and dashboard fit, seat and steering wheel fit.

The only thing I found was a 2017 Forte folder at the dealership... but there was nothing more than one could find on KIAMEDIA.

For sure rear seats are not heated, while both front are vented.

I am waiting for my local dealers he to get a 17 SX in so I can go look at it. I just don't like how they now detuned the car

the horsepower dropping to 175 instead of the 201
that's odd where did you fine that they detuned it? My book still says 201

I noticed that the clueless text writers omitted the turbo -- but still list the 201 HP. I really wonder if there will be a 2017 model per se, or just continue producing the current model, which is getting long in the tooth, as an 2017.

Koup not there yet, but 2017 Forte5 SX is already on KIA website.

It is same 1.6 195lbft/201hp. They kept same tune!

One thing I notice on the Kia US website for thr 2017 F5 is that the steering wheel has the "speak" icon on it. If I look at the Kia canada website for the 2017 Forte (not the F5) then it does NOT have that icon, just call accept and call end / reject buttons. Curious to know which picture is correct.

I just discovered Forte5 does NOT have Homelink mirror... It has dimming as an option only. Later you can opt for optional Homelink, which becomes unavailable with SX package.

Also, it looks like the build-price is messed up.
It picks 7-DCT as standard and needs you to put down 2200 USD for 6-M/T (optional).

They bundled the manual with the premium package hence the big price difference rather than a cut. Note the "Includes contents of Premium Tech Package" which is $3600 on the auto so it still really is a discount.

Puts the MSRP $10k higher than I paid for mine. Wish they would be realistic about their MSRP. Instead of forcing themselves into review competition with a mid trim GTI show how much of a bargain it is vs a base Golf. Nobody is paying $27k for a Kia hatch but reviews and competition are set by MSRP. No discount for moving the production to Mexico either apparently.

Whoa! hold on, you're telling me I could get a 2017, with all the premium package AND manual trans? Hmm. I would have had a really hard time picking if the 2014 had a choice between auto and manual on the premium / lux grade.

I would have opted for the premium package too if I could get it with a stick. Curious to see if that option will be the same in the Canadian website (haven't checked yet).

Premium tech package was available on prior years with a manual in the US too. So could be a Canadian difference they keep through this new year.

There is a silver Koup with auto in my area at a good price. Are the automatic transmission models (has paddle shifters) lively and accelerate well with smooth shifting? 2016 Selection is getting a bit sparse in my area.

From my short test drive I can tell it shifts smooth and relatively quick. If that was the only thing to consider - I would fall for AT already.
If you let it upshift itself (ECO or not) it might bring the revs higher than I would like to actually see, but that could be still learning process.

I did not like the moment of hesitation when you need to accelerate harder when cruising.

Oh, I didn't know that. From what I can tell, the only way in Canada to get the Premium / Luxury pack is to go with the Auto. Always thought it an odd thing.
