    Squirrelly Under Brake Load

So I was wondering if anyone else has this issue.

I've got the hatch and whenever I hit the brakes any bit aggressively, it feels as if my back end tries to lift off the ground and it's doing a stoppie. I say this because it feels like it's balancing on the front two wheels as they try turning back and forth very fast. I know there's less weight in the hatch's rear end, but it seems ridiculous?

Hey ragg, I have a 5 SX too. I haven't noticed anything like what you describe with mine. I've had a couple of times when I needed to get on the brakes pretty aggressively and it stayed flat and smooth with little or no front end shake. It might be worth taking it in for service and see what they have to say about it.

Hmm.. Thanks for the input. I think I'll take it in and find out. Almost feels like the front springs aren't strong enough. If they say it's normal, I'll need to look into progressive springs or some lowering springs to take the option of getting wild out of the equation...

Hey just wanted to mention my car pulls to the left as if the front right brake is not working properly.but only at speeds above 75mph and if I break really hard..I had two shops look at it one being the dealership. They said everything looks normal and they also mentioned that they would not test drive the car to the speeds needed to have the issue. So not really sure what to do about it now but maybe its a weight issue like you said? Or maybe springs.. who knows I learned its limits and dont push it too hard.

I'm thinks the issues mite be the crap tires we have.. but upgrading the struts.. mite be the answer since we share them with the Ex models. I think the springs are stiff enough.. a good aliment mite help....

A, we (dealer and aftermarket techs) are legally bound to only road test a vehicle up to the posted speed limit. If you have an issue with something at 70mph and the posted limit is 50, we'll never find it.

B, The Nexen tires are actually quite grippy when warm and tend to react to surface conditions. They aren't exactly "crap". Their compound is only a few degrees "harder" than a DOT autocross tire.

C, Forte uses a trailing arm style rear suspension. Rear end lift under heavy braking is somewhat inherent in the design. I've had a few customers complain that they feel the car "lifting" or "squatting" under braking or acceleration.

D, I find your lack of spelling disturbing. Lol!

SX models have a "sport tuned" suspension. Struts and springs are different from other models. Just took a quick look at the part catalog to verify.
