Yo Mike is there a slight stretch? Yeah I just got my wheels and the guy said it's ok to sketch to 9 inch but my tires are old I don't want tonally with fire k NJ of what I mean? 8 does produce a slight bulge and the guy said it will protect against curb rash.

anyone running 16's? I really need tires for winter and I'm scared to buy some when I have no idea which ones would fit our forte. If I can do 16's that's my preference however if I need to have 17's so be it. any help is much appreciated

15" is too small for sure. I tried I put my Elantra wheels and no clearance for brake.

16" will be fine AS LONG AS they have the right offset.
I tired Mazda 3 wheels, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata.

Mazda (nice simple wheels) rubbed on the side of the caliper. Nissan - barely cleared the side as well. Hyundai was the best.

    EDIT:
Here I put my experience with wheels.
    https://www.forteturbo.org/forum/23-k...l-fitment.html

Use this to find how close they get.

Of course, offset is only one part of the story as you may have wheels that are designed such way that the spokes will rub anyway.

So, either I will go with used from Hyundai or one of these:

Only I must make sure they will fit.

with 16's I should be able to have a 50 offset would be correct? I apologize about my ignorance with this.. but I suppose I wont know if the spokes rub until I try to fit them?

The best and exact size would be 195/60x16. 205 would be bit higher and having not so much clearance I am afraid at some point they might rub. It all, however, depends on offset.
Some say you must use 205/55x16. I am about to get 195 or 205 - at 60 profile. More cushion. As for load rating - that is not a truck.

As for 50 offset - yes, it would work, but you must keep in mind what is the width as this is also needed in finding the position of the wheel "face".

Do you think 18x9 +35 would fit or would there be a lot of poke?

A lot of poke is very subjective. Some love wheels sticking out, some don't. I belong to the latter group.

    Use this site.
Put OEM setup in the left and yours in the right.

255/35x18 is the best match for 225/40x18.

Will it work? Measure the front inside and you will know.
