I guess with that set up is tucking the dongle away under the hood and water proofing..it a little. like a tiny Tupperware container or something and putting next to the battery.. that's where the port is in the bay.
Yeah, having the dongle in the engine bay doesn't fill me with joy. Perhaps one could get the 16 to 20 pin connector, then add on a 20 pin extension cable, run that into the car and attach the dongle. Hmm.
Probably easier just to get a dongle that will fit behind the fuse panel, or get a spare fuse panel and modify it.

Just pop the OBD plug out of the dash (Only held in with two clips) and plug in your adapter, then put the fuse panel door back in place. There's plenty of room for the adapter and plug to fit without rattling around.

When I was thinking about an adapter / dongle, I did do that, simply to see how much room is in there, and you're right, it's easy to get out, and some room to fit it in.

    The Final placement

A few words about the part.. and what it actually it does.. One of the first thing it DOES NOT DO.. is make your coolant system run any colder. What a high pressure radiator cap does is raise the pressure in your coolant about 3 percent from 1.1 bar to 1.3.. its not a lot when you read it like that but raising the pressure in your system.. raises the boiling temp in your mixture about 30 to 40 degrees.. and that's with a the stock 50 50 water coolant set up.. Things get interesting when you are in a track settings.. a lot of tracks require you run only distilled water.. Running water in our systems is not good at all.. water has a lower bowling point than a typical 50 50 mixture and is a corrosive.. so in a track setting you can run water and a water wetter.. the wetter is a lubricant.. that protects the the system form corrosion.. and raises the boiling temp.. of water a lot more than Coolant..
So why not run this All the time you ask? Well Distilled water and Water wetter have higher boiling temps.. there freeze temps are very high like 32 degrees.. coolant lowers this... way lower.. so..

    TLDR
this cap puts more pressure in the system that raises the boiling point.. of your coolant, for more head room on hot days.. and gives your more flexibility to run a distilled water and or a more water rich mixture on track days. hope you like.

I think that may be the fanciest Radiator Cap container I've ever seen! Looks really nice and the added benefits will be nice too, I'm sure.
