    CAI on a Forte5 SX (1.6T)... 2018 ?

    Hi,

I'm looking for a CAI for my new Kia Forte5 SX 2018 (1.6T).
It seems that nobody can confirm that any model will fit... it is the same engine.... I found CAI for the Koup up too 2017.

2018 is the same as the 2016 and 2017 as far as I can tell.

So, would any CAI fit my car ? I wanted to get an Injen... but I am not even able to get an answer from Injen itself....

according to the K5optima website, the Injen SP1323 would fit.... but it is the only site I find that put the 2018 model on the compatibility list of this model.

Well, I am not 100% sure.
When I looked - engine bay seems to be exactly same.

The changes are: DCT, bottom of the airbox, turbo, and some other minor parts.
Same are: the top of the airbox, tube (except breather design - at least according to schematics and parts), and the air filter. The tube appears to be same. Same clamps, same appearance. Compressor inlet seems to be same.

Having said that - I would say the intake will fit with some minor modifications, if needed. Modifications would only apply to the mounting points if they are different between models (I mean the base of the airbox).
Other than that it should fit no problem.

But before you jump on it - I have been asking everyone who says "I want CAI".
Are you aware of the sound it will produce? It is completely different than non-turbo car.
I did not know that... and I did not like it.

If you do not know, simply unclip the top of the airbox, remove it (loosen the clamp on the tube and pull it out). Then start the engine. I would even say drive it for about 100 yards and you will hear.
It is like a huge vacuum.
Some love it, some not really.
    I am the latter.
    But this is me...

I have no problem with the sound.... 😉
I just want to be sure it will fit.

My dealer is ok with it 😁

You'll have to search under 2014-16 Forte5 SX model to get the intake results.

    Québec Canada.

Injen at K5optima.com is way cheaper. Might do that.
